Biography
Iván López Munuera is critic and independent curator. He explores the inscription of Contemporary Art and Architecture in the critical context of the social sciences and mass media studies. He has realized labours of curator, documentation and management in institutions like Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofía, ACAX (Agency for Contemporary Art Exchange), Ludwig Museum, Matadero Madrid, ARCO, MAPFRE Foundation, Comunidad de Madrid, Fundación Suñol and Instituto Complutense de Ciencias Musicales. He publishes regularly in magazines like ‘El País’, ‘Arte y Parte’, ‘Pasajes Diseño’, ‘Lápiz’, ‘Goya’, ‘Pasajes de Arquitectura y Crítica’ or ‘Urgente’. He has been tutor of ‘Contemporary Art in Latin-America’ at Georgetown University. He has given lectures in many academic forums, like Escuela Técnica Superior de Arquitectura de Madrid, Universidad Complutense, Universidad Carlos III, Círculo de Bellas Artes de Madrid, Universidad Europea de Madrid, CENDEAC and Instituto Europeo di Design. He directs the archive of transdisciplinary contemporary knowledge Fuzzy Now Broadcasting TV; member of Plataforma Curatorial for Young Curators; and part of the group for researching and developing Contemporary Art & Architecture projects ‘El Ranchito’, in Matadero-Madrid.
