Biography
Álvaro de la Vía is specialized in tax planning and tax structuring. Recently awarded with the “Tax Lawyer of the Year Spain, 2016”, Álvaro has been praised for his hands-on approach and expertise in Spanish and international tax issues and has been recommended for many years as a leading individual by Chambers and Partners Global, Chambers and Partners Europe, Legal 500, European Legal Experts and PLC Which Lawyer, Leading Lawyer Global 250, and Best Lawyers. He has been internationally awarded among others with the “Tax Structuring Firm of the Year 2015 – Spain”,“M&A Tax Team of the Year – Spain”, “Tax Practice of the Year – Spain” and “Investment Fund Tax Advisory Firm of the Year – Spain”. He is member of the Madrid Bar Association (ICAM). He holds LL.M., IE Law School (ES), LL.B., Universidad de Deusto (ES), BBA, Universidad de Deusto (ES) and PhD. Studies in Law, Universidad Autónoma (ES). He regularly contributes to newspapers and trade journals and takes part in conferences and seminars.
