Biography
Senior Research Fellow at the Spanish Council for Scientific Research. He was Visiting Scholar at Harvard University, Lecturer BOSP in Stanford University and Visiting Professor at Tufts University, Javeriana University (Bogotá, Colombia), IVIC (Venezuela), Colegio de México, Universidad Complutense and SAM in St. Antony´s College (Oxford). His publications include a number of books on travels, scientific expeditions, images of nations, empires or Globalization. More recently, he was editor of Polyphonic History. His latest books include Naciones de Rebeldes. Las revoluciones de independencia latinoamericanas and Francisco de Miranda. La Aventura de la Política. He is a regular contributor to the press in Spain and Latin America and a member of the Board of Advisors of National Geographic in World History. Areas of interest: Early Modern History, Global History and Political Emotions.
