Biography
Jan Simon teaches capital markets, investments, alternative investments and sports management in IESE's MBA program. Additionally, he is section head for international MBA students. Prof. Simon earned his MBA from IESE and his law degree from the Katholieke Universiteit of Leuven, Belgium. He also holds a postgraduate degree in investment advice from EHSAL Brussels, Belgium, and his Ph.D. at the University of Essex, U.K. Before joining academe, Prof. Simon worked as executive director for Goldman Sachs, helping to set up the pan-European sales trading desk in London. Prior to that, he was vice-president and co-head of Salomon Brother's emerging markets trading desk in London. Prof. Simon is co-writer of the website BankCV.com, which won the Association of Business School Award for New Business and was short-listed for the Computer Weekly Award in the start-ups category in 2001. He serves on the board of management of several start-up companies.
