Research Interest

Specific diagnosis of disease-causing nematodes in agricultural crops, using conventional procedures and molecular analysis. Phylogenetic analysis of nodular nematodes ( Meloidogyne spp.), Lesioners ( Pratylenchus spp.), Cysts forming ( Heterodera spp., Globodera spp.), Stem and bulb nematodes ( Ditylenchus spp.), Foliar ( Aphelenchoides spp. of plant viruses ( Xiphinema spp., Longidorus spp., Trichodorus spp., P. aralongidorus spp.). Pathogenicity of plant parasitic nematodes in herbaceous and woody crops and host-parasite relationships between pathogenic variants thereof with the host plant. Study of the interactions between phytopathogenic nematodes and diseases caused by soil fungi, and their mechanisms through proteomic and genomic analysis. Control of phytopathogenic nematodes through sustainable and environmentally friendly strategies (solarization of soil and soil substrates, biofumigation, organic amendments, etc.).
