Biography
Y. Sanz holds a PhD in Pharmacy with an Extraordinary Prize from the University of Valencia (1996) and holds a postdoctoral position in the Department of Molecular Microbiology at the University of Groningen in the Netherlands (1998-99). Other foreign centers he has held include Dept. Biochemistry of the Institute of Food Research (Reading, UK), Dept. Lactic Bacteria at INRA (Jouy en Josas, France), Dept. Microbiology and Biotechnology at the University of Verona (Italy), Dept. Immunology and Gnotobiology of the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic (Prague) and the Division of Gastroenterology of the Dept. of Medicine of McMaster University (Hamilton, Canada).
Research Interest
urrently, she is Professor of Research at the CSIC and leads the Research Group on "Microbial Ecology, Nutrition and Health" at the Institute of Agrochemistry and Food Technology (IATA-CSIC). Between 2005 and 2011 she was Associate Professor of the Degree in Human Nutrition and Dietetics at the University of Valencia and currently participates in various specialization courses, including the masters of Community and Personalized Nutrition and Quality and Food Safety at the University of Valencia, the postgraduate courses in Celiac Disease and Functional Foods of the University of Seville, the masters in Celiac Disease of the Università Politecnica delle Marche (Italy) and the postgraduate courses on Microbiota and Health of the EAGEN (European Association for Gastroenterology, Endoscopy and Nutrition).
