Research Interest

Palaeoenvironmental reconstructions in marine and lacustrine Neogene to Antropocene sedimentary basins using sedimentological and geochemical proxies. Calibration of geochemical signatures in fossil organisms like some biogenic carbonates as foraminifers, ostracods and mollusk shells which reflect the isotopic features and temperature of the water where they form. Moreover, some of the trace element composition of their shells is also related of the environmental features and biological processes. In many cases a good correlation between the geochemical studies on these carbonates and the environmental changes exists allowing accurate reconstructions
