Biography
Irene Ramos-Vielba has been a Research Fellow at INGENIO (CSIC-UPV) since April 2015. She graduated in Political Science and Sociology at the Complutense University in Madrid, where she obtained her Ph.D. in the same fields in 2003. She has a large experience as a researcher in different research institutions. She was a Visiting Scholar at the Real Colegio Complutense, Harvard University (1999 y 2000), at the Ostrom Workshop in Political Theory and Policy Analysis, Indiana University (2004-2006), and at the Centre for Industry and Innovation Studies, University of Western Sydney (2009). She also worked at the Research Institute for Work, Technology and Culture (FATK), University of Tübingen (Germany) (2014-2015), with which she continues collaborating. In Spain she was as a Post-Doctoral Research Fellow at the Institute for Advanced Social Studies, Spanish National Research Council (CSIC) (2007-2009), and at the political think tank Ideas Foundation (2009-2013). Additionally, as an expert on national research and innovation policies for the European Commission, Irene has co-authored the RIO Country Report - Spain 2016.
Research Interest
Among her areas of research, she mainly conducted research on science and technology policy, university-industry cooperation and knowledge transfer processes, on which she has several publications. She is now also exploring factors underlying the generation of scientific and societal impacts of research.
