Biography
As Head of Product Development at Janssen Human Microbiome Institute (JHMI), Dan Meyers works closely with internal and external partners to drive unique strategies for the development of microbiome products. Dan came to JHMI from the Novartis Institutes of Biomedical Research (NIBR), where he was a Senior Translation Medicine Expert, chair of the protocol review committee and member of the first human trial safety committee. During his more than ten years at NIBR, Dan specialized in advancing drug development from the earliest stages of preclinical research to the final stages of clinical development. As a project leader, he led a number of teams to successfully present research applications on new drugs and clinical trial applications, and has planned and executed more than 25 clinical trials, including multiple first-line, proof-of-concept, mechanical characterization and clinical pharmacology for both small and large molecules. Dan holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Microbiological Sciences from Brigham Young University and a Master's degree from The University of Washington in Seattle. He completed his internal medical residency at the University of Utah, and continued with a clinical and research fellowship in endocrinology, metabolism, and nutrition at the University of Washington.
