Biography

Brian A. Valentine is corporate vice president, chief financial officer and treasurer of The Lubrizol Corporation. Mr. Valentine joined Lubrizol in 1998 working in a variety of business financial management and partnering roles. In 2002 he moved to Lubrizol's treasury department and was named assistant treasurer in 2008 and treasurer in 2009. Mr. Valentine was appointed chief financial officer in September 2011. He has global responsibility for Lubrizol's finance organization, including accounting and financial reporting, internal audit, tax and treasury. In addition, he plays a major role representing the company with financial institutions. Mr. Valentine leads the company's enterprise risk management program and shares in the management of a proactive program to enhance career development within the Lubrizol finance division. Prior to joining Lubrizol, Mr. Valentine worked in various finance and audit positions at Allen Telecom Inc. and Coopers & Lybrand. Mr. Valentine holds a bachelor's degree in accounting and master's degree in business from John Carroll University. He is a Certified Public Accountant in the State of Ohio. Mr. Valentine also serves as a trustee and treasurer of The Lubrizol foundation and chair of the John Carroll University Boler School of Business Dean's Circle.
