Biography
John J. King is corporate vice president, information solutions and business processes for The Lubrizol Corporation. Mr. King joined Lubrizol in 1989 working as an information solutions (IS) technologist and then moved into IS management, focusing on end user support. In 1997, he left Lubrizol to join IBM as manager, worldwide e-commerce, where he led the rollout of IBM’s personal systems group e-business strategy. Upon his return to Lubrizol in 2000, Mr. King held several IS management positions including an assignment in Rouen, France. He returned to the United States in 2004 and was named vice president, information solutions for Lubrizol Additives. Between 2005 and 2011 Mr. King added various corporate responsibilities encompassing IS strategy, M&A integration and technology implementation. Throughout his career, Mr. King has been involved in key IS initiatives for the company, including global SAP implementations; web and business process owner strategies; and developing collaboration solutions to support internal and external customer needs. Mr. King holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Ohio University and a master’s degree in business from Case Western Reserve University. He serves on the advisory board of SafeGuard Technology, the board of directors for Fairhill Partners and is an executive adviser to the Cleveland Metropolitan Schools CEO and CIO.
