Biography
Andrea Mattozzi Joined the Institute in September 2011, coming from a tenured associate professorship at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona. Previously, he was assistant professor of economics at the California Institute of Technology. His main research interests lie in political economy, microeconomics and public economics. He has published articles on the effects of political uncertainty on the adoption of redistribution policies, the selection of politicians under alternative electoral systems, the role of social learning in political games, and the effects of participation requirements in popular referenda. He has published in international journals such as American Economic Journal Micro, Journal of the European Economic Association, International Economic Review, Games and Economic Behavior, Journal of Public Economics, Journal of Politics. His research has been supported by an NSF grant (2006-2009) and by a Ramón y Cajal fellowship.
