Biography

Balocco Simone, since July 2015 is an interim assistant professor at the University of Barcelona, ​​department of applied mathematics and analysis and is a researcher at the Center for Computer Vision (CVC), Bellaterra. Simone graduated as a doctor in 2006. Simone has received two PhD degrees, the first in Acoustics obtained in the CREATIS laboratory, Lyon1 University, Lyon (France) and in Electronics and Telecommunications obtained from the MSD Lab of the University of Florence (Italy). In 2003, Simone completed her final degree project in the laboratory CREATIS Lyon and received the title of engineer in electronics and telecommunications at the Polytechnic of Turin (Italy). From October 2006 to January 2009, He was contacted as a post-doctoral researcher at the CISTIB laboratory of Pompeu Fabra University, Barcelona, ​​funded by the European project Aneurist, and at the same time hired as associate professor of the same faculty. From 2009 to 2010, Simone has been working at the Computer Vision Center (CVC), Bellaterra (Barcelona) with a Beatriu de Pinos post-doctoral fellowship. From September 2010 to July 2015, Simone has been hired as a lecturer at the University of Barcelona, ​​teaching computer science. Simone has co-supervised two Doctorate students: Marina Alberti, who graduated as a doctor in February 2013 and Gerard Blasco, who graduated as doctor in May 2015 at the University of Girona, both with an "excellent cum laude" grade.
