Biography
Professor of the Department of Probability, Logic and Statistics of the University of Barcelona. Specialized in Mathematical Logic and more specifically in Theory of Models. Doctor by the University of Barcelona in 1987. Postdoctoral stay of two years at the University of Freiburg. Teaching and research stays at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (1998-99), Lyon 1 (2000), University of California at Berkeley (2002), University of Cambridge (2005), Stanford University (2012) and University of Freiburg (2014). Author of more than a dozen articles published in magazines such as The Journal of Symbolic Logic, Annals of Pure and Applied Logic, Fundamenta Mathematicae, Archive for Mathematical Logic, Proceeedings of the AMS, Mathematical Logic Quarterly, Notre Dame Journal of Formal Logic and Journal of Mathematical Logic. Author of the book "Simple Theories and Hyperimaginaries" published in 2011 at Cambridge University Press. Director of three doctoral theses, a member of the editorial committee of the journal Archive for Mathematical Logic, member of 8 projects of the DGICYT (IP of three of them 2) and 4 SGR groups (IP of 3 of them) and node coordinator of the European network (FP6 Marie Curie) of MODEL MODEL theory (2005-2008).
