Biography
Mariella Dimiccoli received a PhD "Cum Laude with European Honors" and MAS in Image Processing from the Technical University of Catalonia (UPC - Spain) in 2009 and 2006 respectively, and a MSc. in Computer Engineering "Cum Laude" from Polytechnic of Bari (POLIBA-Italy) in 2004. From 2010 to 2013 she worked as a postdoctoral researcher in France, first in the Laboratory of Physiology of Perception and Action (LPPA) at the CNRS-Collège de France and then in the Laboratory of Applied Mathematics (CNRS UMR 8145-MAP5) at Paris Descartes University. During the year 2013-2014 she was Visiting Professor at Pompeu Fabra University and in October 2014 she joined the Computer Vision Center with a Beatriu de Pinós grant (Marie-Curie COFUND action) to work on the automatic analysis of data acquired by a wearable camera. She has contributed to many competitive national and European research projects in the field of image processing, computer vision and computational neuroscience. She serves as a reviewer and / or program committee for international conferences (CAIP, ICIP, EUSIPCO) and journal of impact in the field of image processing, computer vision and pattern analysis (IJCV, PAMI, EURASIP Journal of Image and and Video Processing, SPIE Journal of Electronic Imaging).
