Biography
Amalia Gómez Casillas has a degree in Anthropology, a Master's Degree in Globalization, Development and Cooperation and a Master's Degree in Territorial and Population Studies with a specialization in Demography.He began his professional career on issues of social integration and community development through educational and labor insertion in disadvantaged contexts. Later he worked in applied research projects and knowledge transfer to agents and institutions of reference for the generation of a social change that impacts on the health conditions of the population. He has worked in liaison with associations of civil society, universities, educational institutes and government agents in contexts as different as Uruguay, Spain and countries of sub-Saharan Africa.An initial stage in technical tasks in social intervention, management and coordination has given way to a growing interest in research and its potential in generating social change. The transversal and guiding themes of his career, gender and development, are collected in his current professional stage as a research technician in the Center for Demographic Studies and a predoctoral student in Demography.
