Biography
Amand Blanes Llorens is a researcher at CED and associate professor at the Department of Geography of the UAB. He is a Doctor of Demography and a Degree in Geography and History, Political Science and Sociology from the UAB. Its main line of research is the analysis of aging, mortality, dependence and health of the population, in which its Doctoral Thesis, Mortality in 20th Century Spain and its direction are inserted of a research project of the National R & D Plan, Socio-demographic implications of the health conditions in the adult ages. He has directed several projects related to the analysis of the population, estimation models and population projections. In this field, the collaboration with the INE stands out for the development of a multi-regional projection system for the Spanish population.
