Itxaso Euba Rementeria

Biography

"Itxaso Euba Rementeria is an archaeologist specialized in anthracology, in the study of carbon and wood recovered in archaeological sites. Since May 2012 he has been a postdoctoral researcher assigned to the Catalan Institute of Classical Archeology (ICAC). In 2008 he presented the doctoral thesis at the ICAC under the title ""Anthracological analysis of altimontaneous structures in the Valley of La Vansa-Sierra del Cadí (Alt Urgell) and in the Valley of the Matrix (Andorra): exploitation of forest resources from the Neolithic to modern era "", which was later published in volume 9 of the Documenta series of the same institute. The thesis was directed by Anthracologist Dra. Ethel Allué from the Institute of Human Paleoecology and Social Evolution (IPHES) and Dr. Josep Maria Palet of the Archeology of Landscape Research Group (GIAP) of the ICAC. For his specialization he has carried out several predoctoral stays. In 2004, he participated in the ""3rd International winter school: Wood anatomy of tree rings"" with Fritz Hans Schweingruber of the Swiss Federal Research Institute WSL in Davos Laret (Switzerland). The years 2006 and 2007 carried out a predoctoral stay with a scholarship BE from the AGAUR (Generalitat of Catalonia) at the Maison Méditerranéene des Sciences of the Home (MMSH) of the University of Aix-en-Provence with the Dra. Aline Durand. After the doctoral thesis he held a postdoctoral stay at the University of Limoges with the GEOLAB group under the direction of Dr. Philippe Allée. He has collaborated with different groups and research centers, such as IPHES, the Department of Medieval History of the UAB, the AGIRI team of the Basque Country, etc. In addition, it is part of the Archaeobiologists group of the Catalan Association of Archeobiologists of Catalonia (ACBA)."
