Biography
Josep Guitart i Duran is Professor of Archeology at the Autonomous University of Barcelona and during the period 2002-2006 he has been the director of the Catalan Institute of Classical Archeology (ICAC). In the field of research, he has worked on various aspects of Roman archeology in Catalonia. It is worth mentioning the excavations and studies on the Roman cities of Baetulo (Badalona) and Iesso (Guissona), as well as excavations in Clunia (province of Burgos). He coordinated the publication of the Proceedings of the International Symposium on Archeology of the Baix Penedès (held in El Vendrell in November 2001), where he presented the results of the research carried out in the framework of the Study of the ancient archaeological landscape at the Eastern Cossietania.
