Biography
Juan A. Módenes is a PhD in Geography, a lecturer in the Department of Geography of the Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB) and a research associate in the Center for Demographic Studies. He teaches general demography and social geography in the Official Degree of Geography and Land Use Planning, of the UAB, and residential urban demography in the Official Master's Degree in Territorial Studies and Population. He has developed his research on Urban and Regional Demography, specifically on residential mobility, linking population and housing and residential demand forecasts. He has directed or directs several doctoral theses in the Doctoral Program in Demography (CED-UAB) on analysis of secondary residence, population mobility, population projections, aging and housing, internal migrations, residential structures and metropolitan areas. His current interests focus on the change of the Spanish residential system compared to other European countries. He is also co-editor of the journal Documents of Geographic Analysis (Scopus, ESCI).
