Biography
"Prof. Miguel Cervera is Civil Engineer (UPC, 1983), Doctor of Philosophy in Civil Engineering (University of Wales, 1986), PhD in Civil Engineering (UPC, 1988). He was Associate Professor of Continuum Mechanics and Structural Analysis (1988-1999) and is Professor of Continuum Mechanics and Structural Analysis (since 1999) at the Higher Technical School of Civil Engineers of Barcelona (UPC). He has been Deputy Director for Infrastructures and Resources (1990-1991), Head of Studies for Civil Engineering (1991-1994), Deputy Director for Academic Coordination (1994-1996), Academic Registrar (1996-1997) and Head of Doctoral Studies (2016-) at the Higher Technical School of Civil Engineers, Canals and Ports of Barcelona. Prof. Miguel Cervera has participated in 62 national and international research conferences, acting in 42 of them as member of the Scientific or the Organizing Committee. He has also co-organized a number of special invited sessions and has been invited as keynote lecturer in several international conferences, including the IV World Congress on Computational Mechanics (1998). He also acts regularly as referee for 26 international scientific journals and has been co-editor of a special issue of the International Journal of Plasticity on Numerical Simulation of Forming Processes (2001)."
