Paolo Dini

Biography

"Paolo Dini received the “laurea” in Electronic Engineering in 2001 and the Ph.D. degree in Information & Communication Science and Technology in 2005, both from the Università di Roma “La Sapienza”. From 2001 to 2005 he worked as a research assistant in the Computer Science and Systems (DIS) and Information and Communication (INFOCOM) departments of Università di Roma “La Sapienza”. In 2005 he worked with the Research Centre on Software Technologies (RCOST) as a research assistant. In the same year he was also an assistant professor at INFOCOM department lecturing the course of “Comunicazioni Elettriche”. In February 2006 he joined IP Technologies Area of CTTC as a post doc researcher. Since November 2006 he is a Research Associate in the IP Technologies Area, now Mobile Network department. Paolo has an active participation in research projects funded by EU, national and regional government as well as by private companies. He took part at more than 20 R&D projects so far as a Principal Investigador, WorkPackage leader, project manager or researcher. He is currently the coordinator of the SCAVENGE European Training Network. He has been also serving as TPC in many international conferences and workshops and as a reviewer in several scientific journals of IEEE, Springer, Wiley, Elsevier. His research interests encompass wireless networks modelling and optimization, with particular emphasis on energy saving and energy efficiency, energy harvesting mobile networks, energy sustainable network architectures and protocols, machine learning for self-organized networking, radio resource and mobility management, smart grids."
