Biography
B.A in Sociology by the University “Autònoma” of Barcelona (UAB, 1989), postgraduate in Demography for the Centre for Demographic Studies (Barcelona, 1991) and Ph.D. in Sociology from Spain’s the “Universidad Nacional de Educación a Distancia” (2002). He has worked in the Cathie Marsh Centre for Census and Survey Research (Manchester, UK) and in the Department of Social Statistics at the University of Southampton (UK). He was a “Ramón y Cajal “Fellow from 2005 to 2009 at the UAB’s Department of Geography. He was a visiting researcher from January to Mars 2003 at the European Centre for the Analysis in the Social Sciences (ECASS) at Essex University, UK. He was associated professor of Demography at the UAB’s Faculty of Political Science and Sociology (2008-2010), of Research Techniques at the Department of Political and Administrative Sciences at “Pompeu Fabra” University (2000-2004) and of Statistics at the Documentation Studies of the Open University of Catalonia (UOC, 1999-2004)ñola de Investigaciones Sociológicas, 160: 115-137.
