Biography
"Graduate in Biology from the Autonomous University of Barcelona (1980), he obtained a diploma of DEA in Biochemistry from the University of Paris VI (France) in 1984, his research work Detection of carriers of Hemophilia A and B through RFLP which was carried out in the Molecular Genetics Laboratory of Hemoglobinopathies and Hemophiliam (Henri-Mondor Hospital, Crèteil, France) under the direction of Dr. M. Goossens. He earned a Ph.D. degree in Human Genetics from the University of Paris VII for his research work Cytogenetic Study in Xerodema pigementosum in the Structure and Mutagenesis Laboratory (CNRS URA 620), Curie Institute (Paris) under the direction of Dr. . B. Dutrillaux. Our center participates in several projects, the main one of which deals with the study of candidate genes modulating cardiovascular risk in Family Hypercholesterolemia (Heterozygous Familial Hypercholesterolemia, OMIM 606945), monogenic disease due to mutations in the recipient gene of LDL that has an important variability in the onset and development of atherosclerotic disease."
