Biography
Xavier Domene obtained his PhD in Biology in the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB), centered on the use of soil bioassays for the quality assessment of organic wastes routinely used as agricultural amendment. Later, he has contributed to several studies dealing with the risk assessment of chemicals, pesticides and wastes in agricultural soils. Since 2008 he works as assistant professor in the Ecology Unit of the UAB and as postdoctoral researcher in CREAF. His current interests are: 1) soil ecotoxicology in lab and field conditions, 2) soil biology, 3) soil function protection, and 4) carbon sequestration in soil.
