Research Interest
I am interested in the holistic aspects of dentistry and this lead to me completing a PhD at the Diabetes and Vascular Research Centre, Exeter entitled "investigation of the links between periodontal disease and clinical and functional indicators of microvascular dysfunction". I have an interest in evidence based dentistry and have previously worked as a clinical adviser and research fellow for the Scottish Dental Clinical Effectiveness Programme which provides up to date accessible information for dental practitioners and ensures good patient care. I contributed to a number of guidance documents which have been published including ‘Drug Prescribing in Dentistry’,‘Prevention and Management of Dental Caries in Children', ‘Practice Support Manual’, and ‘Guidance on Comprehensive Oral Health Assessment’.
