Biography
Roland Sackers, Chief Financial Officer, Managing Director, leads the creation and execution of a long-term financial plan that enables QIAGEN to execute its accelerated growth strategy. This roadmap includes numerous M&A transactions, which Mr. Sackers supported through financing activities in both equity and debt capital valued at more than $2 billion. It has led to strong revenue streams and significant profit growth under his tenure. Mr. Sackers also heads general corporate functions including IT, corporate communications (IR/PR) and procurement. Mr. Sackers earned a degree as Diplom-Kaufmann from the Westfälische Wilhelms-Universität Münster, Germany. He joined QIAGEN in 1999 and has been Chief Financial Officer since 2004. Prior to joining QIAGEN, he served as an auditor with Arthur Andersen. Mr. Sackers is a board member of the industry association BIO Deutschland. He is also a Non-Executive Director and Chair of the Audit Committee of Immunodiagnostic Systems Holding (IDS), a publicly listed producer of immunological tests for research and diagnostic applications in the United Kingdom.
