Biography
Ignacio Egea Krauel (Murcia, 1955) is Second Vice Chairman of Fundación Repsol, the organization that serves as a channel for the company's community and cultural involvement. As part of his position and following the guidelines set out by the Board of Trustees, he is in charge of implementing and coordinating educational, social, cultural, and entrepreneurial projects. The aim is to contribute to greater social, educational, environmental, and cultural development in line with the foundation's objectives, primarily in areas where the company operates. Under his management which began in 2015, important projects have been reinforced and developed on including the Entrepreneurs Fund and a project aimed at promoting the inclusion of people with disabilities and other vulnerable groups. As a representative of Fundación Repsol, Ignacio Egea is part of the Board of Trustees at leading social and cultural organizations. Prior to joining Fundación Repsol, Ignacio Egea held various management positions since 1990 in the Division of Planning, Control, and Strategy and in the Commercial Division. In 2008, he was appointed Executive Director of Trading and Transportation, and in 2014, Executive Director of the Commercial Area where he drove the launch of the new Neotech fuels range, the "Repsol más" loyalty and payment card, and the Client Plan. He holds an Industrial Engineering degree from the Technical University of Madrid (1972-1977). Moreover, in 1983 he was admitted via public examination to the State Administration in the Corps of Industrial Engineers for the Ministry of Industry and Energy. There, he became Deputy General Director of Oil, Gas, and Water from 1987 to 1990.
