Luis Cabra Dueñas

Biography

 Luis Cabra Dueñas (Málaga, 1957) is currently the Executive Managing Director of Exploration and Production and a member of the Corporate Executive Committee. His duties involve maximizing value in the Upstream business unit worldwide by identifying acquisition and development opportunities, as well as liasing with local authorities. He joined Repsol in 1984 as a process engineer at the oil refinery in A Coruña. In the coming decades, he held management positions in the Refining, Technology, Engineering, Procurement, and Safety and Environment areas. In September 2010, he went on to Repsol's Upstream division appointed as Executive Director of Development and Production. Under his management, Repsol made one of the largest discoveries in the world, positioning itself as one of the companies at the forefront of hydrocarbon exploration and production worldwide. Luis Cabra is a Doctor of Chemical Engineering from Complutense University of Madrid. He studied business management at the international INSEAD and IMD schools. He worked as a head lecturer and associate lecturer at Complutense University and the University of Castilla-La Mancha. He has represented Repsol in international associations, serving as Chairman of the Fuel Committee of the European Petroleum Industry Association, Chairman of the European Biofuels Technology Platform, and member of the European Research Advisory Board.
