Biography
Mr. Suárez de Lezo studied law in Madrid and is a State Counsel (on leave of absence) specializing in mercantile and administrative law. His career in the oil sector began at Campsa which used to operate the Spanish oil monopoly. He was the Legal Affairs Director until the oil monopoly ended. Moreover, he has extensive experience as an external counsel, primarily in the energy sector, and founded and led a law firm. He is also a member of the board at Gas Natural SDG, S.A. and First Vice Chairman of Fundación Repsol. In addition to this, Mr. Suárez de Lezo was a member of the Board of Directors of Compañía Logística de Hidrocarburos CLH, S.A. between 2005 and 2010. Luis Suárez de Lezo was appointed to Repsol's Board of Directors on February 2, 2005, and his appointment was ratified at the Annual General Meeting held on May 31, 2005. He was then reelected at the Annual General Meeting held on May 14, 2009, on May 31, 2013, and on 19th May, 2017.
