Biography
Serge Weinberg is a French citizen. He is a graduate of the Institute of Political Studies and a former student of ENA (Ecole Nationale d'Administration). Since 2009, he has been a director of Sanofi. He was appointed Chairman of the Board of Directors in May 2010. He is also Chairman of the Sanofi Strategic Reflection Committee. He served as Acting Director General of 29 October 2014 to 1 st April 2015. Serge Weinberg is an independent director since October 2015. After several assignments as sub-prefect from 1976 to 1981, Serge Weinberg became Head of Cabinet of the Minister of the Budget, Laurent Fabius, in 1981. After being Deputy Director General (Finance) of FR3 (1982-1983), he became Chief Executive Officer and then President of Havas Tourisme from 1983 to 1987. After three years as CEO of Pallas Finance, he joined the Pinault Group in 1990 as Chairman of CFAO. He served as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Rexel from 1991 to 1995 and served as Chairman of the PPR Group (now Kering) for 10 years. In March 2005, he created Weinberg Capital Partners, of which he is Chairman. Serge Weinberg is also a member of the board of directors of the AFEP and a member of the Conseil des Affaires Etrangères.
Research Interest
He is also one of the founders of the Institute of the Brain and the Spinal Cord (ICM).
