University of Barcelona, ​​Barcelona, ​​Spain. RESEARCH ACTIVITY Current: 1. To assess the role of prefrontal cortex in cognitive deficits related to schizophrenia. 2. To study the neurochemical and neuroanatomical bases of cognitive flexibility. Previous: 1. To study the involvement of the endogenous cannabinoid system in the reinforcing properties of natural rewards such as food. 2. To study the neurobiological substrates of cannabinoid dependence and the interaction between the endogenous cannabinoid system with other drugs of abuse, particularly opioids and nicotine. 3. To evaluate the involvement of the purinergic system, through A2A adenosine receptors, in the addictive properties of several drugs of abuse. 4. To study the role of the cannabinoid system in the development and expression of neuropathic pain in mice.
