Biography

Doctor of medicine and surgery. Professor of Pharmacology at the Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry of the University of the Basque Country (UPV / EHU). He has developed professional activities in the Department of Pharmacology of the Karolinska Institute of Stockholm, Sweden and in the Department of Psychiatry of the University of Geneva, Switzerland. Currently head of the Neuropsicofarmacologia research group. He acts as head of the group of basic-clinical research of the UPV / EHU attached to CIBERSAM. His scientific interest is focused on the Neurochemistry of depression and schizophrenia and the mechanism of long-term action of antidepressant and antipsychotic drugs. responsible for the bank of brains from psychiatric diseases installed at the University of the Basque Country.
