Biography
After completing the Specialization in Psychiatry at the University Hospital Marques de Valdecilla defended the Doctoral Thesis on the recognition of mental illness by primary care physicians. He later received the title of Specialist in Alcoholism from the Autonomous University of Madrid and the Master Degree in Affective Neuroscience from the University of Maastricht. He is responsible for the Anxiety Disorders Program at the Marques de Valdecilla Hospital and performs care tasks in the Psychiatric Interconsultation section. At the University of Cantabria, as Associate Professor, he has been responsible for the subjects of Medical Psychology and Social and Community Psychiatry. His research activity has been subsidized in competitive projects (FIS, etc.) and, as a result of these research activities, has more than 40 international publications, mainly of anxiety disorder and other affective disorders.
