Biography
Professor of the Department of Pharmacology of the Faculty of Medicine of the Universidad Complutense de Madrid (CM). PhD in Medicine and Surgery at the UCM in 1989. Specialized training in Pharmacology at the Complutense University and specialized research centers in the United Kingdom and Canada. Principal Investigator of the research group "Molecular Neuropsychopharmacology", whose main scientific objectives are the basic and translational research of Neuropsychiatric pathologies, in order to find new therapeutic targets or biological markers of the same, as well as the identification and development of pharmacological tools for improve the quality of treatment of various pathologies. The group is part of regional, national and supranational research consortia in Neurosciences and Mental Health. Editor of several textbooks related to Pharmacology, director of Doctoral Theses, author of more than 130 indexed publications (h = 41, more than 4200 citations), stable and ad hoc member of national and international scientific quality evaluation committees. In addition to the teaching activity of degree and postgraduate in Medicine, dedicated especially to the specialized training of scientists in Biomedicine in the areas of interest cited. Academic Correspondent of the Royal National Academy of Medicine since 2008. Ha.occupied several positions of academic and scientific management. At present, scientific deputy director of IIS Hospital October 12.
