Biography
Doctor in Medicine and Surgery, and Associate Professor of Pharmacology at the UPV / EHU. He developed his doctoral training in the evaluation of neurochemical alterations of receptors in human postmortem brain of subjects with neuropsychiatric disorders. He then completed a 2-year postdoctoral fellowship at the Royal London Hospital's Neurotransmission Laboratory in the United Kingdom. During this period, functional methodologies were used in rat brain used for the evaluation of monoamines and neuroreceptors and, in particular, in voltammetry techniques. Previously, he had worked in cerebral microdialysis in the laboratory of Dr. T. Sharp, Department of Clinical Pharmacology, University of Oxford, UK, developing models of neurochemical evaluation of antidepressants.
