Biography
Clinical Psychologist. Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Service of the Hospital Gregorio Marañón. She is Principal Investigator, Co-investigator or Collaborator in 10 projects financed by public or private institutions in Spanish and foreign centers. She is Associate Professor of the Department of Personality, Evaluation and Psychological Treatment I of the Faculty of Psychology of the UCM of Madrid and Resident Psychologist of the Gregorio Marañón Hospital. She is part of the team that has been working since 2010 on the ATraPA (Actions for the Treatment of Personality in Adolescents) program and has been leading the Adolescent Psychosis Intervention Program (PIENSA) since 2007, both of which are specific programs of the Adolescents Unit where it performs its clinical activity. Throughout his professional career he has performed his clinical and research work in children and adolescents with serious mental illnesses. He carried out his doctoral thesis"Longitudinal study of neuropsychological performance in onset psychosis in childhood and adolescence"and during his first years, his line of investigation priority was the cognition in adolescents with first psychotic episode. In this line has made several publications of longitudinal studies to two years and is the principal investigator of a research project designed to identify prognostic markers at neuroanatomical, clinical and cognitive level at ten years of evolution in patients with Early Onset Psycho. This study, whose sample is unique and unique in the international literature, would allow to discriminate those patients who will show a stable course of those with a course of progressive deterioration, which could lead to the application of cognitive treatments and neuroprotective drugs. Simultaneously, he began to carry out clinical research focused on measuring the effectiveness of psychological interventions, to which he dedicates his research activity to the present moment. In this line, he recently published the results of his research on the efficacy of a psychoeducational program in the prevention of relapses in adolescents with first psychotic episode, shown how a psychological intervention applied and adapted to a public health system can improve the use of health resources and the social functioning of adolescents and their families.
