Biography
PhD in Medicine from the University of Cantabria. Specialist in Pediatrics and Psychiatry. Master's Degree in Public Health at Miguel Hernández University. Since 2005, contracted by the Institute of Health Carlos III within the research training program Río Hortega. In 2006 he completed his training in the neuroimaging department of the Institute of Psychiatry in London. Since 2008, researcher of the SNS Miguel Servet. It develops its research activity within the program of first psychotic episodes of the Hospital Marqués de Valdecilla. His main areas of interest focus on the neurobiological aspects of schizophrenia, including the study of brain morphological alterations using neuroimaging techniques, as well as the study of genetic aspects of the disease (risk polymorphisms, gene expression studies, influence of genotype in the form of presentation, response to treatment and prognosis). Within clinical aspects, its main line of research are the side effects of antipsychotic therapy.
