Biography

 MY PASSION is starting and being involved with highly innovative healthcare companies in the biotechnology and pharmaceuticals sectors. In particular, solving strategic challenges for cuttting-edge science, and finding efficient ways to monetize it, and make a difference in healthcare. I have spent my career in startup companies.  My biggest success was founding Athena Diagnostics that sold in 2011 for 740 M USD. At the time it was first of its breed as a physician focused diagnostics company (neurology), accessible by a relatively small sales force; it was also the first cutting-edge reference lab, rather than a kit company, which permitted rapid launches and upgrades and no FDA; it was also one of the first pure licensing companies, and had zero in-house discovery efforts. It was profitable after a couple of years and needed only 4 M USD in funding.
