Biography
I. Molina-Fernández received the Ingeniero de Telecomunicación degree from the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid, Madrid, Spain, in 1989 and the Ph.D. degree from the Universidad de Málaga, Málaga, Spain, in 1993. Since 1989, he has been with the ETSI Telecomunicación, Universidad de Málaga, as an Associate and then Full Professor, where he is the leader of the Photonics&RF group. In 2004 he he was a visiting researcher of Poly-Grames research center at Ecole Polytechnique Montreal (Montreal, Canada) where he conducted research on coherent optical systems for communications and sensing.
Research Interest
His research interest is in the area of photonic and microwave technologies for sensing, communications and instrumentation where he is the leader of the Photonics&RF Research Laboratory, of the Communications Engineer group at the Malaga University. He has led more than 25 research and development national and international projects regarding the design of optical integrated devices and prototyping of microwave/millimeter wave systems, and he is co-author of more than 100 international publications in this area.
