Biography

Degree: Biological Sciences, Biochemistry and Molecular Biology by Universidad Autónoma de Madrid, July 1979. Ph.D program: PhD thesis with Prof. Antonio García-Bellido at Centro de Biología Molecular Severo Ochoa CSIC-UAM between January 1981 and September 1986. Doctorate in Biological Sciences by Universidad Autónoma de Madrid in September 1986. Posdoctoral Positions: Department of Molecular and Cell Biology, UC Berkeley and Howard Hughes Medical Institute. Laboratory of Prof. Corey S. Goodman, between January 1988 and September 1993. Previous positions: MEC reincorporation research associate in the laboratory of Dr. F. Jiménez at Centro de Biología Molecular Severo Ochoa CSIC-UAM between September1993 and September 1998, and at Instituto de Neurociencias CSIC-UMH between September1998 and December 1999. Principal investigator at Instituto de Neurociencias CSIC-UMH between January 2000 and November 2001. Principal investigator of MCYT’s plan Ramón y Cajal between December 2001 and June 2002 Current Position: Científico Titular CSIC since June 2002.
