Biography
Edwin Sutanudjaja (1981) received his MSc (2008) in Water Management from Delft University of Technology (with distinction) and PhD (2012) in Physical Geography from Utrecht University. One of his achievements during his PhD research was to successfully develop a large-scale, physically-based and coupled land-surface (PCR-GLOBWB) and groundwater (MODFLOW) model of the Rhine-Meuse basin (200 000 km2) at 1 km resolution. He built this high resolution model by using only global datasets and simulated it using the Dutch Lisa Computing Cluster (https://surfsara.nl/systems/lisa). He calibrated this model by using spaceborne soil moisture remote sensing data.
