Biography

Bartolomé Mora Serrano is Professor of Archeology at the University of Málaga. He has focused his research on the Archeology of the Ulterior-Baetica , with special reference to ancient Numismatics, as well as to the Historiography of Spanish Archeology and Numismatics of the 18th and 19th centuries. He completed his studies at the University of Málaga, where he also obtained doctorate in 1989 with the thesis La ceca de mlk 'and the circulation of money in Malacca and his hinterland . He is a member of the Research Group of the Archeology Area of ​​the University of Málaga (Andalusian Plan of Research) and is part of different research projects related to Andalusian archeology and historiography of this discipline in Spain, to those who join in More recent international dates in the field of Phoenician and Punic Archeology and Numismatics ( Iol-Caesarea , Algeria and Utica, Tunisia). An essential part of his research has focused on the ancient and medieval numismatics of the Iberian Peninsula, with works related to iconography, monetary circulation, monetary epigraphy, re-nationals, metrology, etc. Also worthy of note is his most recent dedication to the numismatics of the ancient times of Hispania, where Byzantine Malaga plays a very important role. He is currently directing a General Research Project (Ministry of Education, Culture and Sport) on Punic archeology in the city of Malaga and its surroundings: Archeology and Heritage in a historic city (2014-2017). He has conducted research stays at the Center Pierre Paris. University of Bordeaux III, Kommission für Alte Geschichte und Epigraphik des Deutschen Archäologischen Instituts, Munich and in theIstituto di Studi sulle Civiltà Italiche and the Antic Meditarraneo (CNR, Rome).
