Biography

She studied Teacher Training at EGB in Málaga (1977) and Psychology in Granada (1979). She worked as a teacher of EGB and school counselor in Malaga, Huelva and Paris (professor of Spanish emigrants). He completed his thesis at the University of Granada (1985). In 1986, she began her doctorate (Experimental Psychology) at Brooklyn College, City University of New York, while working as a school psychologist and teacher in the bilingual programs of the New York Board of Education. He received his doctorate in 1990 with the thesis "Preferences and gustatory aversions conditioned by cholecystokinin", a paper published in the prestigious American Journal of Physiology. From 1990 to 1992 he obtained two postdoctoral fellowships. One of the MEC for the reinsertion of Spanish researchers abroad, University of Granada. Another from the National Institute of Health and Medical Research (INSERM) in France. He continued his research, incorporating studies with human subjects. From 1993 to 1998 she worked at Brooklyn College as a Visiting Professor (Psychobiology) and research associate (post-inducing effects of macronutrients on the conditioning of taste preferences in animal and human models). From 1998 to 2001, she worked as a researcher in the Department of Consumer Sciences at Unilever Research in the United Kingdom. Since 2006 she works as an associate professor in the area of ​​Behavioral Sciences Methodology at the University of Málaga. His main research interest is in the role of attachment in the healthy or pathological development of personality; in emotional and interpersonal self-regulation; and in resilience. Since 2004 he has a private office where he performs psychotherapy, training and coaching activities.
