Biography

Degree in Chemical Sciences (1992, Extraordinary Prize) and Doctor of Science Chemicals (1997, Extraordinary Prize) both by the University of Malaga. Performed pre- and postdoctoral stays at the Universidad Complutense de Madrid, Paris (VI), Aberdeen and Aveiro. Later he joined the University of Málaga as Assistant Professor (1999) where currently holds the position of Professor of Inorganic Chemistry (since 2001). His research activity has focused on the area of Solid State Chemistry, Mainly in the synthesis and characterization of electrodes and electrolytes oxides ceramics for Li / Na batteries and / or IT-SOFC and PC-SOFC fuel cells. In addition, in the last years this research has been extended to the study of materials organo-inorganic hybrids with porous structures with high conductivity proton for use in PEMFC. He has participated in numerous research projects on public calls and Since 2010 is principal investigator of an Excellence project of the Board of Andalusia oriented to the development of SOFC fuel cells. He is co-author of more than 60 scientific publications (index-Hirch 17), three sexennials uninterrupted, two sections of autonomic complement, co-director of 4 Doctoral Theses, 2 Theses of Master, 5 DEA and currently co-ordinates 3 PhD students in Malaga.
