Biography
He holds a degree in Chemical Sciences from the Autonomous University of Madrid, Master in Chemistry by the University of Puerto Rico (Mayagüez Campus) and Doctor of Science Chemicals by the University of Málaga. He is Professor of Inorganic Chemistry of Malaga University. He is the author of 5 patents and more than 295 works, mainly dedicated to the synthesis of new materials and their application in environmental catalysis, as well as in X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS). He has directed 14 Doctoral Theses. He has participated in 6 European projects since 1986, collaborating with the Universities of Montpellier 2, Bologna, Ca'Foscari of Venice, Genoa, Exeter, Cnsiglio Nazionale delle Richerca, and the companies REPSOL-YPF, UOP; ENI, SNAMPROGETTI, IKO, VIANA, well as in numerous national projects and the Junta de Andalucía. Has participated as principal investigator in numerous International Cooperation projects with the participation of the Autonomous Universities of Puebla (Mexico), Havana (Cuba), National of La Plata (Argentina), Technician of Cordoba (Argentina), National of San Luis (Argentina), Federal of Ceará (Brazil), Federal of Rio Grande do Norte (Brazil), Montevideo (Uruguay), Central Caracas (Venezuela), Concepción (Chile) and others. It emphasizes its interest in the development of joint research projects with countries Ibero-American countries such as Argentina, Brazil, Cuba, Venezuela, Uruguay and Mexico. Currently participating in projects that try to prepare nanoporous materials for use in reactions of environmental interest such as catalytic reduction selective NO, removal of VOC at low temperature, partial oxidation of H2S, The improvement of diesel fuel and the production of pure hydrogen for batteries By the oxidative reforming in the vapor phase of methanol and the preferential oxidation of CO. He is a founding partner of Spin-Off VACOQUING S.L. located in the Technological Park of Andalusia and the company ECOPIBA.
