Biography

Researcher specialized in Biogeography and Macroecology. More than 50 peer-reviewed scientific articles; Of them, more than 30 in journals included in the JCR. Participation as a researcher in projects funded by INIA / IAEA, IFAPA, MEC, AECID, MCI and Ministry of Public Works and Housing; And in transfer contracts financed by CIFOR and MARM. Professional experience in agronomy and education. Main research topics: (1) relationships between biodiversity, subsistence hunting, deforestation and disease; (2) biogeographic patterns; (3) modeling distributions; (4) assessing the impact of climate change and land use; (5) conservation of biodiversity. Methodological contributions: (1) assessment of uncertainty in the prediction of changes in species distribution; (2) application of fuzzy logic to the study of biogeographic patterns; (3) combination of new technologies and indigenous knowledge for the study of the Amazon.
