Biography

José-Manuel Fernández-Fígares Pérez (JM Pérez-Fígares) holds a degree from the University of Granada (1975) and a PhD in Biological Sciences from the University of Málaga (1979). Adjunct Professor of Cytology and Histology in 1978 and Professor of Cell Biology since 2002, at the University of Málaga. He has been Secretary of the Faculty of Sciences (1986-88), director of the Department of Cell Biology, Genetics and Physiology since 1988-94 and Coordinator of Tests of Access to the University since 1999. His scientific career has been completed with stays at the Faculty of Medicine of the Universidad Austral de Chile, in Valdivia (Chile).

Research Interest

Congenital hydrocephalus and the search for therapies for its treatment.
