Biography
Dr. Juan Fco Martínez Murillo is Professor of Analysis Geographical Region since May 2012 and is attached to the Department of University of Málaga, where he develops his teaching and research work from the year 2001. His doctoral thesis, directed by the Professor of Physical Geography D. José Damián Ruiz Sinoga and defended in June 2006, focused the study of the factors that control the generation of runoff and the degradation and erosion of ground in abandoned fields. Since then, it has been making different investigations linked to the analysis of soil degradation processes and the water erosion, in areas of the Mediterranean mountain range, in semi-natural conditions, abandoned fields and areas affected by forest fires, and in different Mediterranean climate regimes in southern Spain. It has also carried out research stays in centers of recognized prestige: Instituto of Science of the Earth Jaume Almera (Barcelona, ​​2004); Katholieke Universiteit Leuven (Lueven, Belgium, 2009-10), and University of Aveiro (Aveiro, Portugal, 2014). From the point of view of his teaching activity, Dr. Juan Fco Martínez Murillo has been linked to the teaching of subjects in the area of ​​Analysis Geographic Regional from its beginnings, in university degrees very varied: general geography (Diploma in Teaching), geography of Spain (Ldo. Geography, Degree in History, Diploma in tourism), geography of Europe (Ldo. Geography), tourist territorial resources (Diploma in tourism), geography of Asia (Advanced Studies Degree in East Asia), External Internship (Degree in Geography and Territorial Management) and descriptive geography of the world (Degree in History).
