Mª Angeles González Navarro
Professor
Department of Computer Architecture
Universidad de Malaga
Spain
Biography
Angeles G. Navarro received the B.S. and M.S. degrees in Telecommunication Engineering from E.T.S.I. de Telecomunicación, University of Málaga in 1995 and the Ph.D. degree in Computer Science in 2000, from University of Málaga, Málaga, Spain. Her PhD thesis supervised by Professor Emilio L. Zapata, was on compiling techniques for the distribution of data and computation in multiprocessors. She was an Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Architecture at University of Málaga from November 1995 to August 2001, and an Associate Professor in the same department since September 2001. She lectures on computer organization and computer architecture. She was a Visiting professor in the Universidad Nacional de Piura, Perú, in September 2001. She was a Visiting Scholar in the Center for Supercomputing Research and Development (CSRD) in the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaing from October to December 1996, and again in the Department of Computer Science in the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaing from July to September 1997. Later, she was a Visiting Research Associate in the Department of Computer Science in the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaing from July to December 1998. During these visits, she did research on automatic parallelization and compilation techniques for multiprocessors under the supervision of Professor David Padua. Previously, from July to August 1996, she was a TRACS visitor in the EPCC center at Edinburgh, UK, where she did have access to some of the most important High Performance Computer facilities. She visited the Fakultät für Informatik in the Technische Universität Muenchen, Munich, Germany, from July to August 2001, where she did work with Professor Michael Gerndt.
Research Interest
Parallelizing compilers, multiprocessor architectures and multimedia distributed systems.
